Rooster Knights Tournament Breeding Method

Rooster Knights Tournament Breeding Method

Developed by Joseph Jaubert (CyberTronic Solutions) for use with the Anzu Codex.

Overview

The Knight's Tournament Breeding Method is a structured, tournament‑style framework for building complex biological projects inside the Anzu Codex. It replaces legacy F1/F2/BC notation with named hybrid archetypes (“Knights”), Prime donor lines, and staged rounds that keep your workflow intuitive while the software handles generations, COI, and trait math.

With this method you can create a better workflow and a vastly more dynamic end result, while pursuing a streamlined approach that reduces culling, decreases time to completion, and helps prevent mistakes.

This method is designed specifically for use with the Anzu Codex (anzucodex.web.app) to orchestrate complex, multi‑generation breeding projects. It does not rely on legacy shorthand (F1, F2, BC1) in day‑to‑day decision‑making. Instead, you think in:

  • Primes – foundation donor lines (breeds/strains).
  • Knights – named hybrid archetypes with clear roles.
  • Daemons/Tools – specific traits you want to stack.
  • Tournament Rounds – Surface → Back‑Cross → Swap → Fusion.

Anzu Codex quietly tracks generations, COI, dominant/recessive states, and Magic alleles for you. You interact with a clean tournament bracket instead of raw pedigree algebra.

Primes (Foundation Donors)

A Prime is a foundation donor line: a pure breed or stable heritage strain. In the real world, each Prime is a rooster + hens pair. In the Codex, each Prime is a tagged line with a trait profile and COI.

Knights (Named Hybrid Archetypes)

A Knight is a named hybrid/family that reliably expresses a specific role and look. Examples might include:

  • Grave Knight – “zombie” composite (Bresse × Cemani).
  • Abyssal Knight – larger, almost fully black composite.
  • Swamp Knight – tall, dark, marsh giant.

The moniker is a visual mnemonic. It encodes what the Knight is good at so you don’t have to hold generation labels in your head; Anzu Codex handles that underneath.

Daemons / Tools (Traits)

Each Knight carries a stack of **Daemons** or **Tools**—the traits you care about:

  • Armor – mass, frame, bone density.
  • Lance – height, shank length, leverage.
  • Shadow – plumage/shank color, Fm, camouflage.
  • Mind – FAFO attitude, flock management, human safety.
  • Utility – forage drive, carcass, lay rate, climate hardiness.
  • Magic – key alleles like Fm, M (multiple spurs), Id.

The Tournament

Instead of an open‑ended mess of crosses, you run a **tournament**:

  1. Surface – Prime × Prime → surface Knights.
  2. Back‑Cross – Knight × anchor Prime → sharpened branch Knights.
  3. Swap – Knight from Branch A × Knight from Branch B → fusion Knights.
  4. Fusion – swap winners → Daemon Knight (final archetype).

With 4 Primes (each a rooster + hens), the Surface round builds four archetypes:

Example Primes:
P1 – Bresse
P2 – Ayam Cemani
P3 – Indio Gigante
P4 – Black Jersey Giant

Surface matches (Prime rooster × Prime hens):
(P1♂ × P2♀) → K1 = Grave Knight
(P1♂ × P3♀) → K2 = Heavenly Knight
(P2♂ × P4♀) → K3 = Abyssal Knight
(P3♂ × P4♀) → K4 = Swamp Knight

These are your “surface hybrids” and define the first layer of Knights.

Before this round, Anzu Codex chooses two **branch anchors** (e.g., Bresse and Indio) based on your objective and COI. Then you back‑cross Knights into those anchors:

(K1♂ × P1♀) → K5 = Matrix Knight (Grave+Bresse) → Bresse-branch
(K2♂ × P1♀) → K6 = Bright Knight (Heavenly+Bresse)→ Bresse-branch
(K3♂ × P3♀) → K7 = Grim Knight (Abyssal+Indio) → Indio-branch
(K4♂ × P3♀) → K8 = Shadow Knight (Swamp+Indio) → Indio-branch

Now you have two sharpened branches: a Bresse‑heavy branch (K5, K6) and an Indio‑heavy branch (K7, K8).

Swap Knights from different branches to recombine strengths:

(K5♂ × K7♀) → K9 = Vorpal Knight
(K6♂ × K8♀) → K10 = Smokey Knight

At this stage the AI can enforce Magic allele routing (e.g., Fm must be present in at least one of K9 or K10) and COI limits.

(K9♂ × K10♀) → K11 = Daemon Knight

K11 is your “Daemon Knight”: the line that expresses the complete toolset you defined (height, mass, M spurs, Fm, behavior, forage, etc.) under your real environment.

Better Workflow

  • You reason in Knights, roles, and traits, not F1/F2/BC codes.
  • The bracket gives you a clear visual roadmap; you can annotate horizontals and verticals directly.
  • Anzu Codex tracks COI, generations, and alleles; you stay at the conceptual level.

Less Culling, Faster Completion

  • Each round has explicit tests and thresholds, so you only hatch what you plan to evaluate.
  • Role‑based selection keeps you from chasing traits that don’t matter to your end result.
  • Magic alleles are routed deliberately, so you don’t “lose” key genes mid‑project.

Fewer Mistakes

  • COI checks and branch anchors prevent unintentional inbreeding traps.
  • Allele constraints warn if a planned cross would drop Fm, M, Id or other Magic traits.
  • Versioning (v1, v2, v3) makes it easy to see how a Knight has changed over time.

The Knight's Tournament Breeding Method is designed to plug directly into the Anzu Codex backend:

  • Prime lines are registered once, with trait profiles and Magic alleles.
  • Knights are created when a cross earns a moniker and role; Codex records ancestry and COI.
  • Tournaments are saved as bracket structures (Surface → Back‑Cross → Swap → Fusion) with notes.
  • The AI can propose or validate brackets based on your breeding objective and constraints.
